About Afya Yako Muhimu Organization (AYMO)
Afya Yako Muhimu Organization (AYMO) is a registered Tanzanian non-governmental organization founded in 2019 and officially recognized in 2020 under the NGO Act 2002. Based in the Arusha region, we are dedicated to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare to underserved and remote communities across Tanzania.
To empower communities by providing inclusive, culturally sensitive, and innovative health services that improve lives and build healthier futures.
HIV Prevention and SRHR Access
We run community-based programs focused on HIV prevention, especially among pastoralist populations. By engaging local leaders, youth, and vulnerable groups, we provide education, testing, and linkage to care while tackling stigma head-on.
Menstrual and Health education
Our menstrual health programs support girls through school- and community-based workshops. We distribute hygiene kits, train educators, and promote open conversations about reproductive health to empower young women.
Maternal and Child Health
AYMO is spearheading the development of a 1200-bed maternity and newborn hospital in Arusha, aiming to reduce maternal and neonatal deaths. We also strengthen existing health facilities through professional training and essential equipment provision.
Telemedicine and Mobile Clinics
We bridge the healthcare gap in remote areas using teleconsultation services and mobile health units that deliver essential medical care to families where traditional access is limited.
A Tanzania where every individual regardless of location or background has access to the healthcare they need to thrive.
